Thanksgiving Week: Tiffany's & Central Park Skating

Whew! Thanksgiving Day wore everyone out.
(Even Bry and GareBear were exhaused.)
Did I mention Bry was a refugee on the couch and Garrett
took the futon while Josie and I shared the king size bed?
Poor guys...
To kick off our BLACK FRIDAY, we took the subway up to 34th Street and arrived at Penn Station/Madison Square Garden.

Then we wandered down the street to the original Macy's Department store.
Because where else would you rather be than the "World's Largest Store" on Black Friday?!
So much claustrophobia.

**And yes, this is the first of many pictures you'll find Josie and I in almost matching fluorescent pants. Please note I was dressed first. Josie always wanted to be just like me.**
I tried to get a good picture of Josie with the Empire State Building, but I wasn't very successful.
THIS GUY saw our plight and offered to take a picture for us.
We just asked that he get the ESB in the picture.
THIS was the picture we got.
(wah wah wah...)

So a little further down the block at Herald Square, I tried again.
 New York Public Library

I love, love, LOVE the New York Public Library.
The entire building is stunning. The Christmas decorations made it even prettier.
Grand Central Station and the Chrysler Building
We had fun recreating the opening credits of 'Gossip Girl'

The little stylist had to pay her respects
Checked out some incredibly overpriced toy stores
Can't...breathe...
A little further down 5th Avenue we saw the original Tiffany & Co.
(*sigh*)
We wouldn't be tourists if we didn't reenact some "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
...or the proposal scene in "Sweet Home Alabama"
A little further up at the corner of 5th Avenue and Central Park you have the incredible Plaza Hotel
We were famished little things, so we ate some yummy waffles in Central Park
 The Pond at Central Park

So one thing that Josie really, REALLY wanted to do was ice skate in New York City.
I didn't want to. At all.
(Have you SEEN the lines at Rockefeller Plaza? No thanks.)
I tried to scare her by telling her about the recent shooting at the Bryant Park Ice Rink, but she didn't take the bait.
So we arrived at the Central Park Ice Rink and Josie's big puppy-dog eyes made me concede.
Tons of $$ later, we did it!
Turns out, it was AWESOME
Twin pants? CHECK!
 We're professionals

After we skated we wandered over to the Central Park Zoo
Unfortunately, we did not see the animals from "Madagascar"

We had basically worn ourselves out, so we took a lengthy subway ride from 60th Street to Lower Manhattan and walked out to the Brooklyn Bridge
 Lower Manhattan
Law & Order, anyone?

We made a halfhearted attempt to explore Chinatown.
We were just too tired and cold.
And to top off our day we stopped at Madison Square Park for some delicious Shake Shack.
Again, we were freezing to death so we took it back to the apartment.

We had SO much fun seeing Midtown!
Now I'll have to convince Bry to take me there again since my partner in crime is gone.

(One more "Thanksgiving Week" post to come!)
