I couldn't wait...

One of my biggest pet-peeves is when people start decorating for the next holiday in line without letting the current one come and go. I have several neighbors who have had their Christmas lights glowing at night for the last 2 weeks! My momma always trained me to start decorating for Christmas the day after Thanksgiving....but I couldn't wait any longer!! This last weekend I was feeling the Christmas spirit so I decided to begin decorating! (My actual excuse is that Bryant and I will be spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Cache Valley all weekend so it ended up being the perfect time to get it done)

Let's play a little game of "Where's Edgar?"

Stupid cat... His new favorite napping place is under the tree.

Edgar also likes to slither under the couch.

If I add a little more I'll be sure to share it!

Idaho Cake

Just thought I'd take a second to share how sweet and thoughtful my husband is...
For my birthday, he decided he was going to get me a birthday cake. He didn't get me just any cake...

Bryant: "LEX! I got you a surprise!"
Alexis: "Really? What is it?"
Bryant: "I decided to get you a cake that reminds me of you."
Alexis:"Ok......."
(Bryant reveals the cake)
Bryant: "It's an IDAHO CAKE!"
........

I have the best husband in the world! :)

One Year Anniversary! :)

WE DID IT!!! Wooooooo!
Bryant and I have officially been married for one whole year! I know it sounds super corny, but it really has been one of the best (and most stressful) years of my life.

Our wedding day! (Presh!)

Our first child, Edgar Wayne Jensen, named after Bryant Wayne Jensen. He was born November 12, 2009. (Wait, we were married in September 2009. That's not 9 months apart...) ;) We picked Edgar up from a house in West Jordan on Christmas Eve 2009.

Pretty sure Bryant loves Edgar more than me.

They grow up so fast.

This is what I deal with on a daily basis.

For some reason, he decided to squeeze between Bryant and the chair.

That's my guy

Bryant and I went to Phoenix, AZ in March to see Paul McCartney in concert. It was SUCH a blast!!

And then a few months after we went to Arizona Paul McCartney added Salt Lake to his tour schedule, so naturally Bryant insisted we had to go. (The fireworks were much better outside!)

Bryant graduated from the Masters of Accounting program at USU!

In true Accountant style, he wanted a white cake with white frosting. Pretty sure that's the most boring cake ever.

I was a little bumed that we didn't really get a honeymoon since Bryant was in school and I had to work. To make up for it we, along with Bry's mom and sister, went to the Bahamas in June. LOOOVED IT!!!

August 9th we moved from our cute little house on 500 North 300 East in Logan to...

Our new house in Springville, UT!

Bryant survived Buttars Family Pictures 2010
(Right before this picture was taken Bryant said, "Why do we have to do more pictures? We have a MILLION pictures from our wedding at home. This is ridiculous. I'm not smiling. We're taking ONE picture...".........etc.

"HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, LEX!"
I was so excited just looking at the box. It could have been empty and I still would have been excited just looking at it.

Bryant did an AMAZING job of picking out my bracelet! I loooove it!

Bryant's Present: Apple TV. (It's cooler than it sounds, ok?)

Bryant has wanted a massage for a really long time so rather than being a good wife and getting him a massage gift certificate for himself, I decided to get a couples massage so I can get one too. (Muahaha...yes, I am that selfish. It's our anniversary, dang it! It's supposed to be spent TOGETHER.)

This weekend I'll be spending our anniversary all alone. Bryant will be with his friend Chris Smith at the Ohio State vs. Miami football game. Bryant will be the one tiny speck of orange in a sea of red. (The Ohio State "Horseshoe" holds 110,000. Utah State's stadium holds around 25,500)

Go Canes! :)

With one year behind us, I can only imagine what's ahead of us! Bryant just started law school at BYU so that should keep him occupied for the next 3 years. I am in awe of him everyday. He works so hard! I think I'd curl into a ball and die if I had to go through what he goes through! I'm currently working at the Stevens-Henager in Orem and I'm loving it there. I work with a great group of people and it makes me excited to go to work everyday. I'm also doing online classes through Utah State. I *hopefully* will be done in a year. Thanks to everyone who's supported us and who has been a part of our lives. Here's to MANY many more anniversaries! :)

The Office(s)

Sooo...decorating our house has been quite the stressful project. Bryant has been bugging me to help him get his office finished so he doesn't have to worry about it now that he's a full time law school student (YAY!). So this little post is to show you all of our hard work in putting our offices together!

This is Bryant's office. It's located in the basement, in case you're curious. That stupid desk you see in the corner...yeah, it took us over a week to assemble. (I loath the piece of crap!)

This is Bry's "library". He organized his books alphabetically, grouped by subject. (He cracks me up)

I (single handedly) hung all his diplomas for him. I have the smartest guy around! :)

Bry was dead set on having a "reading chair". We argued for 3 days over this chair. You can see who won...

This side of the room still needs some work. (Don't judge!)
He loves the French doors. Mainly because he can lock Edgar and me out. :(
This is MY office! (Woo!) I do have an office chair, it just happens to be sitting in our garage in Logan. Eventually I'll bring it down to Springville...I hope.

I would describe my office decorations as being all the crap I've collected in my 21 (almost 22!) years of existence. That would include: my parents old computer desk, my cedar chest I got my senior year for Christmas, my old bookshelf that's barely holding together, LOTS of picture frames with some pretty funny pictures in them, old apartment decorations from my single days...etc.

Yeah...I've still got work to do. (Don't judge!)

As you can see, lots of random stuff.

Hopefully I'll get our room put together soon. I'll be sure to keep posting as I finish each room. :)

Just for you, Tara!

So the last few weeks I've been pestered by a certain someone to update my blog....*ahem*....(Tara Ashcroft Crane!!!) This is dedicated to you my dear!

Bryant and I officially moved to our new home in Springville on August 9th. I absolutely LOVE my house! The only problem is trying to make it "cute". Things aren't going so smoothly. So all I'm going to post are pictures of our Theatre Room.

This is the view looking in from the family room. The door in the corner leads to a closet where all the media equipment is being stored.

This is the other half of the room. You'll notice all the random movie posters we picked out. (Obviously "Breakfast at Tiffany's" and "The Dark Knight" are in the same genre...right?)

Yeah...this wall is kind of lame, I know. The door leads back to the family room.

This is the back of the room. *A huuuuge thanks goes to Wayne and Laurel for letting us have their old couch!* In case you can't read the posters they're Seinfeld, Glee, and Gone With The Wind.

The front. You can see "DJ Roomba" in the corner. :)

"Entourage" is on the right. The door on the right is a cold storage room.

We ordered DirecTV for the house and when the technician came to install it he asked if I wanted it to play through the theatre room. (Something I hadn't even thought of) This is DEFINITELY the highlight of the house for Bryant.

So that's all I've got for a bit. I swear I'll post again after my house starts to look "cute".

:)
