As mentioned before in postings past, Bryant and I are going to be moving to Utah county soon. I've been super stressed the past couple months as I've been searching because I felt like I hated a good portion of what was available. (What made matters worse was when I had to look for houses from North Salt Lake to Springville when Bryant wasn't sure if he was going to Utah or BYU)

A cute realtor was super sweet and kept sending me lots of different options and on June 11th she sent me the information on a house in Springville. I asked her at midnight that night if I could see it the next day. When I arrived (all by myself, I'll have you know!) the house was SPOTLESS! The house was adorable and I was mad at myself for not dragging Bryant along with me to see it. (The house had only been on the market for a few days at this point) So Tuesday morning(June 15th) Bryant, his mom, and grandparents all went to see the house for themselves since I wouldn't stop raving about how much I liked it. When they arrived with the realtor, the present owner left a plate of brownies and a few water bottles on the counter with a note that read, "ENJOY!" (I couldn't decide if she really wants us to like the house or if it's more of a "Utah County" type of gesture) So anyway, they all loved the house as much as I did. That day we decided to make our offer. This morning at 8:45 am I found out they accepted our offer! (HALLELUJAH!!!!!!!!!) So if everything goes according to plan, the house should be ours on July 21st.

There are 4 houses that all share the driveway. Luckily ours is in the back right corner so we don't have to deal with people driving in front of our house all the time.

I'm super sad to be leaving Logan and all of my friends soon. Thankfully we found a house that I'm in love with so it won't be too hard to move.

Also...if anyone has any moving boxes I will HAPPILY take them off your hands!

To BYU we go...

FINALLY! We have officially decided that Bryant is going to attend J. Reuben Clark School of Law! (I feel like that title has a nicer ring to it than "BYU Law School")

While Bryant and I are completely excited that he will be starting on what I presume to be the longest 3 years of his life, there is one fact that I am dreading...

According to an article posted by Free Republic (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2503945/posts), Portfolio.com rated the most fun and least fun cities. Provo was rated "least fun," lumped at the bottom with hot, dry places like Bakersfield and Modesto, Calif., and with cities with large water towers, like McAllen, Texas.

Now, being a true Aggie, I gloated in this fact. After all, I was raised to "dislike" BYU (I'd like to use 'hate', but Max Hall has taken the word to a totally different level).

So now, after 21 years of having a one-sided rivalry with a college, I must now cross enemy lines. But in the words of my sweet husband, "I am moving to Utah county at the absolute latest that I can, then as of May 2013, as soon as I have my diploma in hand, I will be out of Utah County." (With our luck, we'll somehow end up trapped there forever)

I am super grateful that I will have a job once we move. I've been working at Stevens-Henager College in Logan since 2008, and now I will be able to transfer to the Provo/Orem campus. YAY for having a job!

Hopefully the next 3 years won't be as lame as we fear it could be...

2 years and counting...

So May 20, 2008 is the date that Bryant and I went on our first date. We haven't been married a year yet so we're still lame and get excited over other dates, like our 8 month anniversary, which we just celebrated on May 12th. Our celebration consists of:

Alexis: "What's the date today?"

Bryant: "May 12th."

Alexis: "Aww. Happy 8 month anniversary!"

Bryant: "Thanks dear. Love you."

Alexis: "Love you too."

I know...exciting! So to celebrate the 2 year mark of when we went on our 1st date, I dug through my iPhoto and found some earlier pictures from our relationship.

This was the very first picture ever taken of the two of us. We were visiting my cousin Kirstin at Kampus Korner and she took the initiative to take the picture for us. Thanks Kirstin! :)

This is definitely one of my all time favorites. I bought my mom a kitten for Christmas of 2008 and Bryant had to let "Simon the Siamese" live at his house for a week before I gave him to my mom. Seven long days of non-stop meowing and one $120 vet bill later, Bryant finally got to get rid of Simon.

This was after the Circ du Soleil "Love" show in Las Vegas. It was such a fun trip and it made it even better to see how excited Bryant got over seeing the show. :)

It has definitely been the best 2 years EVER!

3 down, (?) to go!

He did it! Bryant officially completed his Masters of Accounting at Utah State University! (YAY) While I believe Edgar and I deserve most of the credit for him earning his degree, he did work amazingly hard. In case anyone didn't already know, he graduated in 2008 with a double major in Accounting and Law & Constitutional Studies. (Now if I could only figure out how to steal some of his credits so I can finally graduate...) Here are a few pictures from last Fridays commencement ceremony...

This was the Hooding Ceremony. It was a highly efficient assembly line where the professors would take the hood from the graduate and with two professors to each graduate, they would hook the hood onto the robe. It was quite the process! (Which also made the whole ceremony draaaaaag)

Now Bryant has offically started to study to take the CPA exam and we are trying to decide whether to go to BYU or University of Utah for Law School. Either place, we're excited for the adventure!

Fighting Illini!

On April 24th Bryant, his mother Laurel, and I flew out to visit the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana.We started the trip off pretty smoothly, getting to the airport on time, but of course, our flight was delayed due to the monsoon taking place in Chicago. Once we were finally in flight, it ended up being the longest 3 hours of my life. We arrived at Chicago's O'Hare airport around 11:00 pm and had to drive in the pouring rain for 2 hours until we finally arrived in Champaign around 1:30 am. Thanks to my old roomie, Paige, she was sure to tell us what areas to make sure our doors were locked as we were leaving Chicago. :)Sunday morning we rolled out of bed and found a church near the university to attend so we could get a feel for the people in the area. It was a really cute ward,

filled with tons of crying babies. (I'm assuming babies are a universal theme in all wards!) After church we drove around campus like typical tourists.

The law school building was beautiful inside. It was by far the prettiest library of the law schools we've looked at.

It was nice to see what real fraternities and sororities look like! ( No offense, USU)

The recreation center was the most amazing thing about the campus. Bryant was drooling the whole time. Everything was brand new and absolutely huge. Definitely a tempting aspect of the school for Bryant. :)

While Bryant was busy touring the school and meeting with the Dean of the law school, Laurel and I drove around Champaign scouting out the area for potential homes. There were plenty of "waterfront" properties, which basically meant that you had a flooded canal behind your house. As soon as he was finished at the school, we had to start our 2 hour drive to the airport, and we just happened to get into Chicago as rush hour hit. It did give me plenty of time to take some pictures!

I definitely fell in love with Champaign! It was such a nice area and it was definitely an area I could see us living. We'll see what happens from here!

Blogging...

I've tried my best to stay away from the blogging world. Mostly because I have ZERO writing flair and secondly...I had NO CLUE how to make a blog. Back in the day I used to be quite the pro at customizing my MySpace, but now in my old age, most of those skills have left me. Thankfully, I work with some very creative ladies who have inspired me to start blogging! (Thanks Hillary, Emily, and Tara!) So, against Bryant's will, I start my first blog! Wish me luck! :)
