SUPER BOWL BOUND!!

Bryant is the perfect definition of a rabid sports fan.
He loves his teams and stands by them despite their long droughts of victories.
Bryant's True Loves:
University of Miami Hurricanes
(National Titles in 1983, 1987, 1989, 1991, 2001)
DENVER BRONCOS.
(Super Bowl Wins in 1997 and 1998 seasons. Super Bowl Appearances: 7)
((He also has a deep-rooted, passionate love for John Elway. I dare you to make any bad comment about him and just watch Bryant come unglued. It's great.))
Honorable Mention:
Utah State Aggies
(National Titles: Haha...good joke. At least we make bowl games now)

Let's give you a little history now...

For his third Christmas (1987) he was given his first Broncos gear
(This is where the Elway obsession starts)
A little more history-
Bryant's mother grew up in Lakewood, WA which is about a 45 minute commute to Seattle.
Bryant's dad attended dental school at the University of Washington, which is located in Seattle.
(Obviously there are some Seattle bloodlines that Bryant is bound to have.)
In a feeble attempt to brainwash the little Bronco into becoming a Seahawks fan, they had him wear the following...
OK...cutest kid ever.
...and that's the only time you'll ever find Bryant in something Seahawks related.

Halloween of 1992 he was a "Broncos Football Player"
Bryant and his best buddy, Jackson Olsen, looking nice and awkward in their Penn State and Denver Broncos hats.
(I think these are also the only pictures you will ever find Bryant wearing a hat.)
In the summer of 1992 the Jensen Family took a road trip through Denver, making a pitstop at Mile High Stadium
Bry, Wayne, and Garrett inside the stadium (1992)
20 years later! (Saints-Broncos game in October of 2012)
At our home in Springville we had to have Bryant's Elway picture hanging, along with his Broncos Uniforms History picture.
Bryant's beloved Broncos made the SUPER BOWL!!
(He's excited, to say the least.)
So now we were faced with a once in a lifetime, 'bucket-list' opportunity:
Do we go to the game?
(How often do you get the chance to see your childhood team play in the Super Bowl?)
(We live 13 miles away from MetLife Stadium, where the game will be played.)
(We wouldn't have to pay for airfare, hotels, etc., so in reality it would be the cheapest Super Bowl we could ever go to.)

So...
WE'RE GOING TO THE SUPER BOWL!!!!

While I am still in depression over my poor Saints getting worked over by stupid Seattle (not once, but TWICE) I will happily wear my Broncos attire:
I'm also willing to sell ad space in the form of any other team attire.
49ers fan? Send me a jersey and cash in the amount of $1,000 and we have a deal.
Chargers fan? Your amount is $2,000 (sorry, I hate Phillip Rivers)
Seahawks fan? Your total is $3,500. (I didn't have a problem with your team before they beat my Saints. Now you throw in the Richard Sherman Fiasco? Child, please.)

So now I'm going to need everyone to pray for the weather to be above 32°F

GO BRONCOS!

American Museum of Natural History

As much as I love watching college football every Saturday, (I really do!) I'm kind of glad the season is over.
Why?
I have a functional husband again.
(He really isn't THAT bad, unless Miami or USU is playing- then he's worthless.)
So now that we have a free Saturday, we decided to go to the
American Museum of Natural History.
We didn't have any animals come to life, but it was still an amazing place!
Asian Elephant
Water Buffalo
Grizzly Bears
Moose...Meese? Meeses? I still think it should be a word.
T-Lex!
(Haha! Get it?)

"Carl...he RUINED our SALAD!"
"Easy, Frank..."

After we left the museum, we walked along Central Park West to the Lake

Then we walked to 72nd Street and Central Park West to The Dakota Building, where John Lennon lived and where he was shot in 1980
Across the street at the Park is Strawberry Fields and the Imagine Mosaic
While we continued walking on the Upper West Side, I realized how much I want to live there...

I somehow convinced Bry to keep walking and go to the #7 on my list of
(This stupid little bakery was a pain in the butt to spot.)
((And there was standing room for MAYBE 6 people inside.))
BUT...The Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie was life-changing.
Bry got the Oatmeal Raisin cookie, which he loved.

We ended the day with pizza and...football.
My poor Saints broke my heart for the last time this season.

*sniff...sniff...*
Drew BREEEEEEES.
Truth.

The Daily Show with Jon Stewart

I have a new obsession with attending show tapings.
Reasons?
1. It's Free
2. It's cool to actually be in the audience of a show that you have either grown up watching (David Letterman) or have watched consistently for the last few years (Colbert Report & Daily Show)

I've had a lot of people ask me how we get tickets to all these shows, and all you have to do is go to the show's website and click on their 'Tickets' link and it will let you know if any are currently available. They generally book the shows two months in advance, so if you have a specific date in mind, make sure to plan accordingly.

For The Daily Show, we got our ticket reservation back in November. The day of the show, you have to show up by 2:30 PM to get your numbered ticket.
Bryant got in line at 1:15 PM and there were at least 100 people in front of him. Once 2:30 PM rolled around they finally started handing out our numbered tickets...which told us to be back in line at 4:30...
Having lots of time to kill, we wandered along 11th Avenue and found refuge from the FREEZING COLD at a yummy Italian restaurant

We arrived back at 4:30 PM, only to wait in line again. Normally they would have made us wait outside longer, but since it was so cold they took pity on us and let us sit in the studio a lot earlier than usual. But first we had to make it past security...

Once we were seated inside the awesome studio, they basically threaten to murder a litter of puppies if anyone dares to take pictures or record anything without their consent.
...then 5 minutes later they said, "We are now going to allow you to take pictures FROM YOUR SEATS for 10 minutes. After that, PHONES MUST BE TURNED OFF!"
So...We took some pictures!

Jon's Desk
Where the correspondents sit when they're on.
(Which they weren't that night. Boo.)
